Taz

Taz was my very first English Short-legged Jack Russell, I purchased her as a puppy from Cedar Hollow Jack Russells. As a horse trainer, riding instructor and cat owner, my life was about to majorly change!! Little did I know at the time, how much my tiny new addition would change my life. I had gotten Taz with the idea of breeding her at least a couple of times, I had friends that requested puppies.

Shortly before Taz came into heat when she was two years old, I received a phone call from a very sweet older gentleman. He had been referred to me by Cedar Hollow Jack Russells. He was looking for a puppy that was closely related to his previous Jack. It turns out that Taz was the closest relative to his beloved Jack. He asked if I was still planning on breeding Taz and was delighted when I told him "yes, the next time she comes in heat". He then called me weekly to see if "our girl" was in heat yet.

Soon Taz came into heat and I bred her to a beautiful imported English Short-legged Jack from Cedar Hollow, named Tussler.

Tussler and Taz's first litter had five puppies, 4 girls and a lone boy. Our lonely gentleman friend got first pick, he named his little girl Nippsy Russell. The remaining puppies were Jessica, Three Spot(because she had three spots), Sweetie, because she was and Tiny Tim because he was not (tiny).

Jessica went to a friend of mine and eventually had puppies of her own, she is Rufus's Great-Great Grandmother. Three Spot, renamed Dolly, went down to Southern California, as did Sweetie, renamed Katie. The two sisters went to my oldest and dearest friend, Debbie D. and her bother.  Three spot was renamed Dolly and she learned to sing Happy Birthday. Tiny Tim was the only one left and I just couldn't bear to part with him, so Tiny Tim, now Timmy, stayed with Taz and I.

Taz lived to be 1 week shy of twenty years old. Timmy lived to 18.
